HE THAT SEARCHETH THE HEARTS KNOWETH

Romans 8:26-27 likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (27) And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him….
Psalms 44:21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
That’s a comforting thought isn’t it? Just the fact that God knows all things and even knows the very thoughts of our hearts should comfort us because we will never have a heartache that God doesn’t know about. On the other hand; if there is something in your heart that you are ashamed of or haven’t confessed to the Lord and repented of, you might as well repent because he already knows about it anyway. It doesn’t matter how hurt or disappointed or confused you may be and regardless of the situation, Hebrews 4:15 says “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are yet without sin.” Our high priest is Jesus and he feels our pain. It is hard to imagine that someone could feel the deepest hurts that we have ever experienced but Jesus does.
If you stop and think about it, Jesus knows what it is to be betrayed by his friends. I am not just talking about Judas or Peter, but I am also talking about the rest of them. Mark 14:50 says “And they all forsook him and fled.“ He knows the anguish of turning around and seeing no one. Can you imagine what it must have been like knowing for nearly three and a half years, that the friends that you were taking meals with and sleeping in the same places with were going to eventually turn and run? Jesus knows all things and spent over three years knowing all of that was going to happen. He even knew when he called Judas to be a disciple that he would sell him out to the religious leaders for thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave. Not only that, he also knew that his staunchest ally Peter, was going to stand in Pilate’s hall and openly deny knowing him three different times even getting so mad he cursed, Yet, Christ didn’t condemn him but forgave him instead, Romans 8:34 says Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” The Holy Ghost goes to God the Father on our behalf, and although we may be so hurt or distraught or even angry that we can’t seem to pray, he speaks to the Lord with the anguish of our heart and puts into words the things we can’t even express. Besides that, 1 John 2:1 says that “…if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” Talk about an inside connection, we have the Holy Ghost before the Lord on the throne expressing the anguish or desires of our hearts with groaning that can’t be uttered, and Jesus himself on the right hand of the Father pleading our case as the ultimate attorney and friend. An advocate by definition is one who pleads for or in behalf of another or an intercessor. Jesus can and does do that for us because he paid the price that justifies us before God the Father. He paid the ransom for our sin.
Whatever the burden you may be carrying or the pain you may be hiding behind a smile, God knows already and is willing and waiting for you to bring it to him. In 1 Peter 3:9 the bible says “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” John 6:37 says, “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” What are you waiting for? You don’t have to carry your load alone. Christ and the Holy Ghost are already making intercession on your behalf before the Father. Luke 12:32 says “Fear not, little flock; for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” If he is willing to give you the kingdom; then surely he is willing to meet your need. Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” “He that searcheth the hearts knoweth…” He knows. He knows your case and already knows the outcome and you win! If you have been born again, the devil might desire to sift you as he desired to do Peter, but just like Jesus told Peter, “I have prayed for you that your faith fail not…” He prayed for you in John 17:20 when he said “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.” Just prior to his arrest, he prayed for you. “He that searcheth the hearts” knows your heart and has prayed for you. Think about that as you go through your day. Have a blessed day in the Lord!!!
