REMEMBER WHERE YOU’RE GOING Andy Hollifield 1-6-19
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee…
“I wish I hadn’t ever started this way” thought Mitzi as she watched the steam vapor coming out from under the hood. The car running hot and two kids in the backseat crying and hungry and fifteen more miles to go on this desolate two lane road. No safe place to pull off and nowhere to stop for help. The traffic and the flat tire earlier were bad enough and now this. As the temperature gauge kept climbing ever so slightly, through tear-filled eyes she watched the odometer slowly click the miles away. Just a little further; less than a mile, as the car begins to sputter. Finally, there it is; the Virginia Dare Bridge. She can see the ocean on the horizon as she crest the top of the bridge and comes to a stop on the other side in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places God ever made: the Outer Banks Of North Carolina.
Sounds like our journey with the Lord doesn’t it? Sometimes the rough places make it seem like it’s not worth it. We don’t plan on all of the flat tires and problems when we accept the Lord as our Savior. Yet, he has proven time and time again that his grace really is sufficient. The best part is, one day we will cross that last hump and on the other side enter into the place that God has prepared for those that love him. When the journey gets too rough; remember where you’re going.
