FINALLY                                                                                                                                           Andy Hollifield 1-20-17
I have always tried to not get too awful political with my post but today I will make an exception. If you think I am about to jump on anybody’s bandwagon, you just don’t know me very well. First, let me state for anybody that might wonder about it, I am registered unaffiliated. I want to tell you why. Years ago when I went to the board of elections and changed my registration, I told the lady that both of the major parties were so full of the devil that I didn’t want my name too closely associated with either of them. Nothing much has changed. Before I get started I will tell you, I don’t like Trump. I like some of what he says but not always the way he says it. But lets look at the facts for a minute. I mentioned yesterday that we have not had a legitimate president in my lifetime based on everyone’s opinion. I also want to add that I am sick of these whiney brats that have no idea what a hard days work is crying and being distraught because an unconvicted treasonous felon ran for office and couldn’t even beat an outsider. My take on it is this. To her credit she does have the capability of being honest. For 30 years the country has listened to her liberal rhetoric and seen her do her dead level best to follow through on it. Apparently someone believed her when she said she was going to put a lot of coal miners out of work. Ask gun shops whether they believe her. Gun sales and CC permits surged especially during the campaign. According to her speaking fees, she has the country for sale to the highest bidder, better known as pay to play. The fact is that she has a pretty good record on following through on what she starts. The problem is that the rest of the country don’t want what she’s selling. Hopefully her and her husband will finally be past history. And speaking of her husband, even he knows that Obama care is a complete and total disaster. If I remember correctly, his wife took a stab at healthcare reform then and failed miserably. I will give her credit for the institution of PPO’s and HMO’s which screwed up an independent choice system that was working. Now I want to clarify something. I am a kidney transplant recipient. I have been discriminated against by insurance companies as long as I have had insurance. Some wouldn’t write a policy while others took the opportunity to make far more money than their product was worth. Do you know what I did? I got a job with a group health plan. Even then I had to take a year waiver on my kidneys. I was buying my medicine out-of-pocket while working a slightly above minimum wage job. When my pay wasn’t enough, I got a better job with better benefits. This eventually involved developing a skill set at my own expense that would make me more attractive to potential employers. It worked. The more skill I acquired through actual work, the better my skills got and the easier it was to get better jobs with better pay. It’s called work for a reason. If I wanted insurance, I simply demanded more of myself and made the sacrifices myself. I didn’t demand anything of anyone else. Now the people who have insurance are the very ones that wouldn’t pay the price to get it. In a lot of cases, they probably can’t afford the deductible even if they can swing the premiums. Don’t even talk to me about pre-existing conditions because after 33 years with my kidney, I still get discriminated against by life insurance companies and I still couldn’t afford to buy private health insurance even prior to Obamacare. And yes I do refuse to call it “affordable” because if you have it, you can’t afford to use it.

Let’s not stop there. let’s look at the constitutionality of it. Requiring someone to purchase a product that you want them to have even though they may not want it or may have something better, and fine them if they don’t buy it, seriously you call that care: I call it a dictatorship. When a president’s laws are challenged continually in the courts, that should be a red flag. When he has to do recess and weekend appointments because he can’t get his criminal element appointees past the House and Senate; that’s a problem. I will give him Osama Bin Laden, maybe. We didn’t even see the body because it was dumped at sea if I remember correctly. He doesn’t mention it much and from what I’ve seen, if it’s true, that is easily his greatest achievement. One more thing and I will leave him alone. When have we ever had a president that felt it his duty to immediately comment on police matters when he obviously never had the facts. I don’t recall dems or republican presidents calling news conferences and jumping in front of cameras to spout off about how police done their job regardless of the circumstances. And to have the audacity to say that race relations are better than they have been for up to 40 years? Really? If those rose-colored glasses he is obviously looking through are that good, maybe he should have required everyone to purchase a pair of them rather than healthcare; at least we might have been able to afford the glasses and they would have at least blocked UV rays. One last thing, I am sick of all these people on Facebook sending the pictures and talking about 8 years, no scandals, nothing but grace and class. From the school lunch program which now generates more waste and more hungry kids than ever before due to poor taste, here’s a clue for you from a parent, if it don’t taste good kids won’t eat it no matter how good it may be for them. Right on down to the Iranian payoff, the Cuban debacle, the hatred for all things Israel, the national debt, immigration, commuting sentences, prisoner trades, the Iranian capture of our sailors, ISIS, and the list goes on. Maybe he is the JV team because he sure didn’t play his cards right on all that did he? His whole presidency has been nothing but one continuous scandal. I would say “no class” and he hasn’t shown any sign of “grace” except to Muslim extremists and dictators around the world. The one thing I am confident about with Donald Trump; I would be shocked if he continually made tours around the world apologizing for the US like Obama did.

I do not even want to get started on Hillary. Like I said earlier her record speaks for itself. With the baggage from Arkansas, and the enabling of her husband to be a womanizer, to her lack-luster career in the Senate, to her disastrous performance as Secretary of State, to the Benghazi video scandal (under Obama’s watch), to her private server on which she leaked classified documents. The same crime that Generals have lost their careers for over having done far less. Didn’t Edward Snowden leak or sell info to our enemies? Isn’t he still a fugitive? With all this “public service record” who in their right mind would want her as commander and chief of anything?

I really am sorry if I have offended anyone. I am just tired of being told I am less intelligent than you because my opinions differ from yours. I am sick of being called a racist because I don’t give Obama a pass on stupid stuff because of skin color. If he had been a white republican with the same record, he would have still been just as horrible. I am also tired of being called a bigot because I refuse to accept alternative lifestyles as normal and not perverse. I am “offended” that because I believe in absolute bible truth, I am labeled with multiple labels including weak. Quite the contrary! To endure all the intolerance coming from the left that wants to force their views and beliefs on me and force me to depart from my own convictions, we are anything but weak.

I will tell you exactly what we as Christians are; we are born again children of God. We are fighting the good fight of faith. Faith; it is a belief in something that you can’t see and are willing to put your life on the line for it. Sound familiar, it should. Back in the day before history was rewritten, that was what the pilgrims had as they boarded the Mayflower and crossed the ocean to establish colonies. Not for economic prosperity because they gave up what they had to do it. But for the freedom and liberty to worship God according to the dictates of their own heart. So please don’t make the mistake of confusing compassion and faith for weakness. Far from it actually. By the way, according to history, their desire was to worship God almighty, not Allah or Buddha or anyone else. That is why the very buildings in Washington D.C. are covered up with scripture and quotes from prayers of our founding fathers.

All of that said, we have that same God we will have to give an account to one day. Hebrews 9:27 says “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement:” Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil..” Romans 12:21 “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” We are only making stands in accordance with our convictions. One thing you can rest assured of is this; I don’t know about the rest of the basket of deplorables, but I plan to hold his feet to the fire along with the rest of the republicans. I have already sent an email to Mr. Trump right after the election and told him I didn’t like him but to please keep his promises. If he doesn’t, I believe that you will likely see the ’90s repeated. That was when republicans received a mandate from the voters and didn’t follow through. We have endured 8 years of Obama because you won, now be gracious in losing and show some sportsmanship, remove the hyphen from your racial class, and let’s just all be AMERICANS. If you don’t like it, get ready for 2018 and 2020 with stronger candidates. It will be up to God above to deal with Mr. Trump if he tries to make a mockery of the position he is blessed to hold.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!!!
